TOILET PAPER

As I was sitting there contemplating my options it came to me
that life has a lot in common with my issues with the last roll of toilet paper.
I watched it grow smaller, knowing I needed to buy more. I would go to the
store, get distracted, buy toys and forget the toilet paper.
*
Now here I sit frantically searching, no one to blame but me,
hoping that maybe this time, I really did hide a roll from myself,
because I have been here before, but knowing I always think I will do
better the next time.
*
So remember that like toilet paper we let life roll out always planning on
making time later for what is important.
*
Like toilet paper we make plans and promises to others and ourselves,
but get distracted and forget what is important.
*
Then when we are faced with the end we hope
we have some hidden time that we can use,
promising to do better, knowing we will forget.
*
This time I bought extra and hid it away!

CONVICTED

CONVICTED
*
I've been convicted,
found guilty
without a trial!
*
No jury in sight
I never even got
to defend myself
for you see
I have no rights!
*
I have no right to
a belief different than
hers!
*
I have no right
and how could I dare
to be who I am
just me!
*
Convicted
Not for believing
abortion is wrong
*
Convicted
For not going along
with all the others in her
praise and defense!
*
I may be the one found guilty
Convicted in this make
believe court
*
But, it has NEVER been
about her right
to abort!
*
It has always been
about my right to choose!
*
And I will be
DAMNED
before she dictates to me
*
And she will never
hear my
praise!
*
I stand convicted!
My great crime.
I won't take away
the guilt she bears!
*
That's God's place
not mine!
*
She made her choice and
says she fears not
nor believes in
My God!
*
So why is she
afraid?
*
Why this great need for
my praise?
*
Perhaps
*
she
*
fears
*
being
*
*
CONVICTED!

LITTLE LION TAMER

I will never forget
the scene that day
my child in the corner
her arms stretched wide
tears streaming down her face
and behind her two
little twin girls
she was trying to hide!
*
The nursery worker (her lion)
had yelled and
made the babies cry.
*
So my sweet, brave child
at the age of two
faced down this lion
and would not
let her through!

They came and got me
out of church service
that day, for they
did not know what
to do
*
Some parents worry
their children will not
live up to
their hopes and dreams.
*
I worried too!
That I
would not be
worthy
of a child like
you!

CASHMIRE BOUQUET

It's funny how thoughts and smells
twine together bringing moments
of joy into our lives.
*
I remember as a young child
my mother boiling water on
an old wood stove
in my grandmothers kitchen
and the metal tub waiting
to be filled with
children and laughter.
*
My grandmother always had
these little bars of the
sweetest smelling soap
Cashmire Bouquet.
*
They came in a plastic bag
and we would get
to pick one out
for our bath.
*
I still love to hold
a bar of this soap
to my nose
and smell it
reminding me
of those precious
moments frozen
in time.
*
These sweet memories
remind me that we all choose
how we view our world.
*
We can hold on to
the bitterness,
remembering only
the pain
and sorrow
*
or
*
Choose the
sweet memories
that bring a
smile of joy
to our face.
*
It saddens me
when I see loved ones and strangers
who choose to live in the past.
*
People who choose
to feed off
all the old hurts and pains
instead of choosing
to remember
the sweet moments of joy.
*
It saddens me when people choose
to blame others for
the sadness in their lives,
never realizing
that they have chosen
the path of their lives
and only they can choose
to find joy.
*
It is not easy to let go,
but some people
seem to wear
their hurts and pains with pride,
bragging on who
has suffered the most.
*
Maybe
this is where
they find their joy,
what brings happiness to them,
maybe
that is all the joy they expect
or want out of life.
*
When I was young
I thought
being an adult meant
following my own rules,
never having to live
by someone elses choices.
*
As an adult I learned
there were different rules
and not only did I have to choose
to follow these rules
but
I had to accept
that
choosing not to follow them
was a choice I made
and any price to be paid
was mine to pay.
*
So I learned to ask myself
can I live with this choice
and where it leads?
*
It has taken me a long time
to learn
and sometimes I still forget
that
my joy
has never been
anyones choice
but my own.
*
I will never be able
to make choices
for others,
though sometimes
I wish I could.
*
But it is my choice
how others decisions,
rules and choices
affect my life.
*
I can choose
to hold on to
the past,
to my anger and hurt.
*
I can choose
to blame others
for all of my lifes
problems and troubles.
*
OR
*
I can choose
to pick up a bar
of sweet smelling soap
and remember
that frozen moment
in time.
*
Your joy
is just that
"Yours"
If you choose
not to embrace it
then at least
be honest enough
with yourself
to recognize it is your choice!!!
*
*
*
I hope you find your bar of soap.

FULL BLAST (FOR KEITH, MAY YOU STILL BE RIDING THE NIGHT WIND

FULL BLAST
I will never forget the
night we met
The peacock feather
stuck in your
cowboy hat
It swept the floor
to the heels
of the
gator boots
you wore
boots that
suited you
so well
I'm so glad
I did not
make a run
for the
door
You asked me to dance
and when I declined
You told me you
had moves that
would
make mine shine
You asked me if
I would care to go
for a spin just up the road
to this out of the way den
When we got to your car
and I'm being generous there
I was a little concerned
when you had no reverse
You stuck your foot out
and pushed
your car back,
out of your parking spot
I was young,
wild and free
and did not become
alarmed until you
explained to me
about your brakes!
Somehow
by God's sweet grace
I'm sure
We made it to Orla Vista
and Orange Counties
most notorious bar
I've got to pause here
as the tears stream
down my face
Because I am reminded
I love you still
today
I will never forget
or regret
one moment of our
time together
the love and laughter we shared
*
Just the other day
I saw a young man
trying to impress
he popped a wheelie
out in
the grass
*
All I could think
of to say
was
*
I'm not impressed
*
For you see
*
I have rode the
night sky
Tasted the wind
on the back
of a bike
doing 110
*
Front wheel held high
in the air
tearing down the
highway
screaming
in joy and fear
*
Clinging to the back
of a man
running
*
Full Blast!
*
All my love still
Keith
No regrets!
*
Just memories of
a man
I could never resist
and I will neverforget
*
A man who knew
how to live, laugh
and most of all
Love,
*
*
Full Blast
*
May you still be riding the night wind!

SOMEDAY
This has been running around my brain
since I learned last year
that the someday I hoped for
would never be here.
I did not want to face the pain,
But I have no regrets
about the choices I made.
Only sadness for the somedays
we will never have
and joy for the time we spent.
I chose to write this today
for anyone out there
waiting
for their somedays,
that may never come!
To ask them, when it's to late
and your somedays
have all come and gone,
will you be able to look back
with no regrets
at the choices you made?
For the somedays you put off,
for the time never spent?
Or, will you look back only to find,
that the choices you made,
the time you spent was just to
survive and you never learned to live?

SMARTY BRITCHES
We came up with
a great idea
today
My brilliant
child and I
A way for me to
remember
the things
I so often
forget
She will make a list
writing it on my
forehead and arms
perhaps needing my legs
for this great list
Asking anyone who
reads it to
remind me of
the things
I always
forget
HAH!
THAT'S WHAT YOU GET
MISS SMARTY BRITCHES
CHILD OF MINE
FOR MAKING FUN
OF THIS POOR, OLD,
MIND OF MINE
